Guild Rules
Ocularis Infernum is a friendly and relaxed Guild. These rules are not designed to try to restrict your gameplay, but to help the guild progress and make the game a fun experience for all its members. Please be sure to read and understand the rules.
GENERAL GUILD RULES
- RESPECT
Be polite and helpful to members at all times (abuse will not be tolerated).
- GUILD CHAT
This channel should be primarily used for WoW talk. Lengthy discussions on non-WoW matters should take place in a private chat channel. The Guild has many different members of various ages and all chat should be friendly and polite at all times. Arguing, bad language, using excessive capitals, pretending to be another Guild member, spamming Guild chat, or begging etc may result in punishment.
- REQUESTING HELP
Whilst you are fully able to ask fellow Guild members for assistance, please do not repeatedly beg for help. You should try to help out other Guild members that require help if you are able to.
- INACTIVITY
It is expected that all Guild members are online regularly. If you expect to be offline for two weeks or more you must inform a council member or run the risk that your character will be permanently removed.
- COMPLAINTS & ISSUES
If you experience a problem within the Guild from another Guild member this must be reported to an Officer or Class Leader to allow us to deal with the situation.
- COMMUNICATION
The forums will be the main location where communication about changes will be published. It is recommended that you regularly update yourself and participate on the forums. A regular review will also take place with the Council to decide on Guild policies and changes within the Guild.
- GUILD WEBSITE
All rules detailed here apply to the website as well. Failure to follow the rules may result in your removal from the Guild and deletion from the website.
- VENTRILO
This Guild uses Ventrilo as a means of communication. All conversations using Vent should be in keeping with the rules of the Guild.
- ACCOUNT
You are responsible for all actions of your characters. Therefore any account sharing may risk your place within the guild
- REPRESENTATION
Guild members are to always behave in a profession manner in the WoW world. Any conduct that places the Guild in a bad light may result in your immediate removal from the Guild
- FINAL DECISIONS
Any decisions or actions taken by any Council member can be appealed to the next level, up to the President. The Presidents (or Vice-Presidents in the absence of the President) decision is final.
RAID RULES
These are the basic rules that every Guild Member needs to ensure they abide by to help make the Raids successful and stress-free for all concerned.
- All Raids will be planned through the in-game calendar. All members invited must ensure they Accept or Decline.
- If you sign up to attend and are Confirmed to form part of the group, you need to ensure you attend or let the Raid Leader know early enough to arrange back up. Failure to attend without notice may result in a temporary ban from attending raids.
- If signing up for a Raid, then please ensure you are free and online for at least 3 hours after the indicated start time.
- All attendees must be online 15-30mins prior to the start of the raid and be at the entrance of the raid ready for the start time.
- All Raiders must notify their Class Leader of their reasons if they change spec.
- Before attending a Raid some research should be undertaken to ensure you have at least a basic understanding of what will be involved. Excellent basic reading on wowwiki.com, in depth explanation and tactics on www.bosskillers.com
- All Raiders must have installed the correct raid addons as detailed in the Raid Information forums.
- All attendees should ensure they have enough of the relevant potions and reagents to last the duration. This includes ALL possible buffs: food, weapon oil, and a flask or double elixir (if applicable). Also bring enough mana pots, and USE health pots in heavy fights.
- All attendees should ensure they are fully repaired before entering the Raid.
- Raid chat should not be used for random conversations, linking of possible drops, spamming damage reports etc unless the Raid Leader has started an official break. Linking of drops can be asked for in whisper, dmg reports will only be displayed after a request by the RL. Raid chat should only deal about the current raid, about tactics and possible problems.
- When Raiding the focus must be on the Raid, and therefore you should not be engaging in whispers, guild chat or other interruptions. EXCEPTION may be a Class Leader or Guild Officer that needs to address something immediate. Raid Leader will call this to the raid, everyone stays ready and does not go afk for the duration.
- You must ensure that you monitor your performance and do not over aggro, break cc or similar.
- If you are unsure about your role or killing order ask before the fighting starts.
- The Raid Leader has the final say in every aspect of the Raid, and the Raid Leader will decide how the Raid progresses. This means if a Raid Leader assigns someone a certain role - that's your role, if you believe you cannot fullfil it you must raise it with the Raid Leader.
- Loot: after a boss is down, the following should take immediately:
- Rezzing. when all are rezzed:
- People taking badges etc
- Raid Leader announces loot incoming in /rw - everyone quiet in /ra
- Distribution of loot & gz's
- A possible short break
- Continuance after full rebuff- remember flasks/elixirs etc are ticking. (25 man taking a 10 minute break equals 250 flask minutes = 2 flasks = 120 gold!)
- Loot will normally be distributed via DKP systems unless the Raid is on farm. Please ensure you fully understand how to use DKP and how much DKP you have prior to the Raid starting. Instructions for DKP can be found in Raid Information forum.
- Bio breaks or other AFK time should only be taken before the Raid begins and at the appointed time given by the Raid Leader. This is to avoid having to pause the raid every few fights for someone to run off.
- If people from the original set up of a 25-man raid have to go, and we call in replacements who have to respec to fit the spot, the guild will refund their respec. The respec gold will be mailed to the player after the raid has been finished.
